About John & Amanda Sears
Amanda and John have been together for around 12 years and married for 9 of those. They met at Battle of the Bands in Christchurch in August 2010 - Back when John was lead singer and guitarist in a metal band called Mirikachinist and Amanda was hanging out in the metal scene and studying at Design and Arts College.
​
They fell in love, Amanda moved back to Dunedin and after getting married in 2013 they moved up to Nelson to settle down, start a family and focus on living a life full of fun and adventure while continuing to pursue their creative passions; Amanda with her art, creative consulting and writing and John with his music, teaching and photography.
​
In 2022 they finally welcomed the birth of their little girl Emma Sophia Sears after 9 years.

Amanda started her creative career with a small newspaper in Whitianga, in 2007. Since then she has studied briefly at Design and Arts College in Christchurch, and worked in various creative, marketing and management roles in Dunedin and Nelson.
Always a creative soul at heart, she incorporates as much creativity into her life as possible with various projects and businesses acting as outlets for this abundant energy and looks for ways to bring this to the community.
Amanda has extensive experience in design and marketing as well as within the health and wellbeing fields and offers guidance and inspiration for more conscious living.

Meet John

John has been a musician for over 20 years and enjoyed success with his Dunedin 'Liquid Metal' band Mirikachinist; winning the 2010 South Island Battle of the Bands, releasing an EP, as well as playing heaps of gigs and supporting 8 Foot Sativa, Tainted and Brazilian metal band Eminence. John is currently pursuing a project with some local musicians and has recently started a solo music career and teaching guitar lessons.

While music is his main passion he has always enjoyed photography and has a great eye for composition and unique settings in landscapes. In 2014 he got his hands on a Nikon D3100 and has been learning how to use it and build a base of quality photographs.
